What you need for application:

• Non-metal bowl (ceramic or plastic)
• Wooden or plastic spoon
• Gloves
• Application brush
• Shower cap
• Wool hat
• Warm water (35°–40°C)

How to prepare and apply Licorice Henna:

1. Hair preparation

• Apply a scalp scrub to remove product residue and improve the dye’s performance.
• If hair is not particularly dirty, use only the scrub. Otherwise, follow with a gentle organic shampoo.

2. Preparing the mixture

Recommended amounts:
50 g powder + 200 ml water (medium-length hair)
100 g powder + 400 ml water (long hair)

Gradually add warm water while stirring until you get a smooth, yogurt-like cream.

For extra hydration, add 2 tablespoons of Goond Katira, or gel made from flaxseeds, fenugreek or psyllium seeds.

3. Application

• Apply the mixture immediately to clean hair using a brush or hands, in a thick layer.
• Cover with a shower cap and wool hat to retain heat and moisture.
• Leave on for 60 to 120 minutes, depending on hair type and desired intensity. (For thick or resistant hair, leave on longer)

4. Rinse and post-color care

• Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
• Avoid shampoo for the first 48 hours to allow the color to set.
• For the first wash, use a Sidr treatment to help fix the color.

Double application – when is it needed?

If you have very light, gray, or chemically treated hair, a double application is recommended to achieve a uniform and intense result: first apply Radish Red, then Licorice.

(For chemically treated hair, a double step is highly recommended, especially during the first applications.)

• Brahmi: Stimulates microcirculation and promotes strong, thick, healthy hair.
• Chamomile: Soothes and calms scalp irritation, making the treatment gentle for all skin types.

Warnings:

• Always perform a strand test before full application to preview the final result.
• Patch test: Apply a small amount of product with warm water to the inside of the elbow or behind the ear. Cover with a sterile pad and leave for 12 hours. If itching, redness or swelling occurs, do not use.
